Would you give up sex for a 50-inch TV?
Are you desperate enough to do anything just to own a 50-inch plasma TV? So desperate that you’re willing to give up sex for 6 months? Surprisingly, a new survey estimates that more than 25 million Brits find this proposition reasonable. No mate, this is not a joke! Conducted by electrical retailer Comet among 2,000 respondents, about half (47%) of British men surveyed said yes to celibacy while only 35% of British women shared the same sentiment. It turned out vanity is the root of this craziness. In the words of the company’s Commercial Director, Bob Darke: “We are surprised to see just how much the nation would be willing to give up for a 50-inch plasma TV. Hamburger lunch box

Hamburger lunch box
I still have my old Strawberry Shortcake and Care Bears metal lunch boxes somewhere at my parents’ house. I’ve thought about tracking them down before, as they’d probably be rather retro chic these days, but now I think I’ll keep them where they are. They’d have nothing on this multi-level hamburger-shaped lunch box. Look at it. Not only is it microwaveable and in the shape of a hamburger, but it’s got three compartments and comes with a fork and spoon! My old lunch boxes only came with a thermos and are probably rusted shut by now. Available for $9.99 from Shop Happy Trails. Via Nerd Approved. (Read the full post about ‘Hamburger lunch box’…)

All-in-one Pulse Smartpen: handwriting and audio recording
All of us attending lectures wish to possess such a device that would be able to store and reproduce the information given by professors. Of course it’s possible to use a simple voice recorder for this purpose, yet it will not help you much, because both aural and visual memories should be involved in the process of memorizing in order to ensure its high efficiency. But now you can stop worrying about this because Livescribe has just presented its new product. Pulse Smartpen represents a pen with embedded computer that captures handwriting and simultaneously records audio, synchronizing it to the writing. Users simply tap on the word to replay what was recorded while writing this word. (Read the full post about ‘All-in-one Pulse Smartpen: handwriting and audio recording’…)

Meizu M8 now on sale? Doubtful.
Posted Feb 9th 2008 1:58PM by Chris ZieglerFiled under: Cellphones, Handhelds Given the sheer bulk of press Meizu’s M8 has received over the course of its young, controversial life, it’d seem likely that even the slightest trickle of units onto Chinese store shelves would lead to unboxing shots, videos, and reviews within hours, wouldn’t it? Reports are starting to flow across the ‘nets that M8s are now being made available through several of Meizu’s suppliers, but without a single in-the-wild picture of a fully functional, final spec unit — from Meizu, much less a paying customer — we’re not buying it. Amp’d looking towards old CEO to repay debts
Its hard to forget the death of Amp’d Mobile, it seemed like a drawn out death that came to a slow end. Eventually they did close their doors and the remaining customers were then sold to Prexar. You would have thought Amp’d was over, but it turns out the sale was not enough to cover their debts and who better to go after than the previous CEO and partners. The now closed and bankrupted company Amp’d has decided to sue former CEO Peter Adderton because he “refused to perform certain aspects of his employment” and “threatened to take action that would damage” the company. The lawsuit is seeking $1.15 million in payments made. (Read the full post about ‘Amp’d looking towards old CEO to repay debts’…)

Polaroid ceases instant film production
This was clearly inevitable with the rise of digital technology in the late 20th century. Polaroid is closing its instant film producing factories in Massachusetts, Mexico and the Netherlands some time next year. If you own a Polaroid, you’d better enjoy it while it lasts as you won’t be able to buy any more instant films. Polaroid now focuses on generic consumer electronics such as digital cameras, printers and scanners as it tries to survive “for the next 30 to 40 years,” Tom Beaudoin, Polaroid’s president, chief operating officer and chief financial officer, said. Flying Alarm Clock
Do you hate getting up in the morning? The Geeks have found several products to help including the Loudest Alarm Clock Ever and the Neverlate Executive Alarm Clock… apparently waking up is an epidemic as yet another alarm clock has been discovered by the Geeks called the Flying Alarm Clock. This definitely is not your typical alarm clock as when the alarm goes off a rotor is launched and hovers up to 9′ in the air. The alarm does not stop until the rotor is returned to the alarm clock base. This is a great gift for any stubborn sleeper out there. Gimmie! (Read the full post about ‘Flying Alarm Clock’…)
