The delay of the Cloudbook came with some mixed emotions, some people were happy about the delay because it could possibly mean a better product and some were just angry. It was however with good reason that Everex delayed the release. According to Everex they had reached the limits with Enlightenment desktop and did a complete switch of the gOS GUI to instead use GNOME which will allow for more flexibility. Good news is that Everex is now on track for that February 15 release date. And on another Cloudbook note, the picture above is a newly released image courtesy of Everex. Nice green box, I guess that goes along with the whole green image. Via [Ultra Mobile Life] Keep up with the latest gadget goodness! It reminded me of that children’s shoe which lit up and squeaked as the child walked, but upon closer inspection, I realise it’s actually a work of art. Designed by Freedom of Creation (concept by StrawberryFrog and created by Janne Kytannen and Mads Thomsen) as a suggestion for the Onitsuka Tiger (an ASICS Japan premium heritage brand) Eletric Tiger campaign, the OT Electric Shoe stops the show with its unconventional design. Freedom of Creation created a 1 metre version for display purposes as well as 70cm and 40cm versions of the design for Onitsuka Tiger stores around the world. If you haven’t noticed yet, the designed was inspired by what a typical city in Japan might look like at night. (Read the full post about ‘OT Electric Light Shoes’…)

Astro Systems is apparently gearing up to launch the DM-3400 to appease the “needs” (read: extravagant desires) of its digital cinema and broadcast studio clients, and by the looks of it, we doubt it’ll have any issues accomplishing that. This bad boy also supports four channels of DVI and HD-SDI for some of that quad-view action, and there’s even contrast, gamma and brightness adjustments for each RGB channel. Unfortunately, we’ve no idea how much coinage this beast will demand, but there’s littl (Read the full post about ‘Astro Systems introduces 56-inch 4K x 2K LCD monitor’…)

Posted Feb 12th 2008 4:41PM by Donald MelansonFiled under: Cellphones While Microsoft was doing little to hide how much it was willing to spend on Yahoo!, the company’s been decidedly more coy about exactly how much it dropped to pick up Sidekick-maker Danger earlier this week. The ever-dependable Om Malik now claims to have turned up a figure, however, and while it pales compared to that Yahoo! offer, it’s still quite a doozy. According to Om, a “fairly solid source” informed him that Microsoft parted with a full $500 million to bring Danger into its fold, with later-stage investors in Danger the biggest beneficiaries of that payday. Nearly all of the bags on the market are boring, and for most people, that’s OK. I am one of those people who needs to have something different, something fun! The people over at Plastic People Design in partnership with SupremeLoveStory have created some unique laptop bags made with some fun colors and featuring heart appliques and accessories.
