Cigarette Phone

Posted on: 28, Feb

Camels are not only known for their macho image in the past, but those are some real man’s cigarettes if its advertisements are to be believed. The Cigarette phone hides an actual handset within the ordinary looking box of a Camel pack. It slides open just like how a standard cigarette packet does, and retails for $49 from Custom Phones. Bear in mind this is but a house phone so don’t expect it to perform wonders like send text messages or capture pictures of your hubby having a romp with the maid in bed while you’re at work.

Pedal-powered Snowplow

Posted on: 28, Feb

Shoveling snow off your driveway can be quite a pain during winter, and even worse if you don’t have kids whom you can order around (lovingly). Engineer Kevin decided to literally take things into his own hands, putting together this pedal-powered Snowplow by merging together various parts from a riding lawnmower and a bicycle. The blades are constructed out of two different shovels which have been cut and nestled together to form a ‘V’ shape, making it possible to plow through your yard in record time.

Samsung announces two gamer plasmas for Korea
Posted Feb 28th 2008 4:03AM by Ryan BlockFiled under: Gaming, HDTV Although Samsung’s billing these plasmas as being “3D ready”, what they mean to say is that they apparently did some tweaking with game mega-developer EA to ensure their two latest 1080p plasmas — in 42 and 50-inch sizes — play games well. The HDMI 1.3, USB, and supposed 1m:1 contrast ratio don’t exactly hurt, either.[Via Akihabara News]Tags: cameras, dvr, plasma, buyers guides (Read the full post about ‘Samsung announces two gamer plasmas for Korea’…)

Asus ZX1 Lamborghini Branded Phone

Asus is launching their ZX1 touch screen phone which will be branded by Lamborghini. It will run the Windows Mobile 6 Pro (probably 6.1) when it arrives and feature a full touch screen which will be a completely flat display integrated in to the housing just like an iphone. On the connectivity side we will see 3G data support, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and it will be powered by a 520MHz Qualcomm processor. With the ZX1 being branded by Lamborghini this means you will see the regular Lambborghini colours for the casing of the phone which I assume will be yellow and black. However, I do hope that an equivalent of the ZX1 will hit the market with out the Lamborghini brand as it seems that the famous badge is only there to increase the price for no real reason. Dreamworks holding strong with HD DVD, but not necessarily by choice
Toshiba may have officially killed off HD DVD and we have seen just about everyone else make their announcement to switch to Blu-ray, but one is remaining. Dreamworks, who is currently is under contract with Toshiba to exclusively support hd dvd have stated they “have an obligation to see this through.” With a new title, the Bee Movie set to be released next month, it may have to hit the stores on just regular old DVD. In the meantime Dreamworks is waiting to hear back from Toshiba on just what they should do. Dreamworks expects to have this resolved by the 2008 holiday season, hopefully for their sake this will be resolved sooner. Aroma Waker Concept

Posted on: 28, Feb

Aroma Waker Concept
The Aroma Waker concept by Abio Genesis plays on the fact that a particular scent is capable of transforming our moods instantly - who can forget those freshly baked cookies that grandma used to make, being the best in the neighborhood? The Aroma Water merges an aroma diffuser into a standard alarm clock, allowing you to program your “mood swings” simply by setting the clock. I wonder just how many scents there are on sale - guess the answer would be unlimited, since the Aroma Waker is but a concept at this point in time. Unborn Have Their Own Social Networking Page
Orange research claims that 21% of parents have already set up a social networking profile for their baby - that roughly equals to 57,000 babies with their very own Facebook, MySpace or Bebo profile in the UK alone. I guess capturing images live and as it happens is much better than using traditional film cameras, since it offers instant uploading features without having to develop those photos, scan it and then only post it for all and sundry to see. Heck, even the unborns already have their ultrasound scans via cell phone or email. And here I am with not even a single Facebook (can you believe it) account. Bummer. General Mobile DSTW1 Dual-SIM Phone
If you’re one of those folks who are carrying a couple of handsets around because your boss decided to “reward” your performance with yet another phone line so that he can reach you 24/7, here’s a handset that does not weigh down your pocket. The General Mobile DSTW1 Dual-SIM phone can hold two SIM cards as well, with one supporting quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) while the other does tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900MHz). Being business-minded, it comes with OCR software that scans business cards on-the-fly via its digital camera, converting text into vCard format which can then be imported to Outlook. No word on pricing, but some of its specifications are as follows :- Processor: TI OMAP 850 2 (Read the full post about ‘General Mobile DSTW1 Dual-SIM Phone’…)
