Chinese YouTubers will no longer be able to access the video-sharing site—indefinitely. Access was blocked last Sunday after Tibetan protest videos were posted that may have prompted the Chinese government’s decision. Similar to what happened in Pakistan, the whole YouTube website was blocked. It would be a lesser bad news if only the videos in question were banned but the government decided to refrain their people from accessing the popular video website. Doing a simple ‘Tibet protest’ search on YouTube.com, will show more than 400 videos uploaded in the past 7 days alone. As of this writing, the video “Tibet WAS, IS and ALWAYS WILL BE a part of CHINA” already has 273,162 views and counting and the video was only uploaded Sunday, March 16. Posted Mar 17th 2008 12:04PM by Darren MurphFiled under: Household Apparently, traditional powerstrips are in dire need of an overhaul, as the Eject Powerstrip is just one of many replacement concepts we’ve seen float by in the past several months. Nevertheless, this brilliantly engineered design essentially allows users to eject plugs leading to devices not currently in use in order to keep consumption of “vampire power” to a minimum. Additionally, any ejected socket is automatically turned off in order to keep your meddling youngsters safe from electrocution. The Nintendo Wii is one hot console despite having the lousiest hardware specifications compared to the Xbox 360 and PS3 on paper. If you still can’t find one at a store near you, fret not. The upcoming Super Smash Bros. Brawl tournament will feature a delicious prize for the winner - a Nintendo Wii that comes all decked out in Swarovski crystals for that added bling factor - 20,000 of these puppies will blind your opponent with flashes of brilliance (from your gaming masterclass and the console’s looks). It has been tagged with a market value of $4,000, which is roughly $10 Euros judging by how fast the dollar is devaluing these days. (Read the full post about ‘Wii Gets Decked in Swarovski’…)

Rumors are spreading around that Flickr Video may soon be seeing the light of day. And no, they are not talking about a couple of months but in a matter of weeks, April to be a bit exact. Both News.com’s Dan Farber and TechCrunch’s Michael Arrington have reasons and sources to believe that Yahoo’s widely used and most popular web service is actually extending its clout to offer an online video service ala YouTube. If indeed Flickr Video is coming soon, then it better have something better to offer than what YouTube does. YouTube have become an epitome of what user-generated video content is all about. It has gone a long way since it was launched by a couple of cool programmers sometime in 2005 or was it 2006? (Read the full post about ‘Flickr Video coming soon, do we need another YouTube?’…)

Intel will be shipping quad-core CPUs for notebooks in the third quarter of this year, but you won’t find them in a laptop that will actually fit in your lap. The 45nm (probably the Core 2 Extreme QX9300) chips will initially find their way into tea-tray sized computers, and while technically portable, they’ll be aimed at gamers and power users, and people happy to be tethered to a power outlet: these high powered machines will drain a battery faster than a coke habit will drain a bank account. It’s been 9 long months, but games publisher Rockstar never gave up and has finally secured a release for Manhunt 2 in the U.K.
Here’s a quick summary of the journey taken to get the game released. Back in late June last year, the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) refused to give the game a rating due to the violent content it contained. Then in early August Rockstar filed an appeal against the BBFC decision with the Video Appeals Committee (VAC). While that appeal was going on, a revised version of the game got a Mature rating and release in the U.S. A second attempt to get the revised game a rating in the U.K.
