Paper Planes game head for Cell Phones
Cell phones aren’t exactly the best platform when it comes to mobile gaming, but at least they keep you occupied instead of staring at the passenger sitting opposite you during your everyday commute. Namco Bandai has just released Paper Planes for the cell phone platform, allowing one to build virtual paper planes over the cell phone and letting them fly in different scenarios containing various objectives. You will start from scratch with a basic design, whereby you will need to put all your engineering knowledge (or the lack of it) tweaking the weight and angle of the flaps, select the power and angle of throw you think would work best and fly them to achieve the set objective. X5 HairLaser

X5 HairLaser

I remember seeing this ad in a newspaper that claimed: “Now there is an easy answer. Laser Hair Removal!” It showed a pretty woman with great legs, and I can only assume that her bikini wax was somehow done with lasers. Well, I have no idea how lasers can remove hair, but apparently they can restore hair. This is exactly what the X5 HairLaser is designed to do. This little gadget is designed to fit in your hand like a tiny scalp massager, and can blast “15 distinct points of coherent laser light directly to your scalp at the optimum power and wavelength”. Somehow, all these lasers are supposed to promote hair growth. However, it doesn’t work all at once, but it is a treatment that requires 10-15 minutes, three times a week. Gamertell Review: Sandio 3D Game O2 gaming mouse
Product: Sandio 3D Game O2 mouse (aka 3D Motion Controller with Laser Gaming Mouse) Price: $79.99 Rating: 5.5/10 Pros: A good core laser mouse, comfortable wrist attachment, programmable mini joysticks and cool lookin’ lights. Cons: Not as plug-and-play as promised with certain programs. Programming interface is not very intuitive. Some ergonomic issues as well. Overall: As a regular mouse, this works pretty well but the 3D components are more awkward than necessary. Only consider buying if you have a specific non-gaming 3D need, forgiving hands, a strong wrist and lots of patience. In a 2D computer screen world, it can really become a pain in the wrist to try and navigate virtual 3D environments. (Read the full post about ‘Gamertell Review: Sandio 3D Game O2 gaming mouse’…)

Portra-Jump is tiny, will jump start your car

How many times have you gone out to start your car (truck, SUV) only to find that you’ve done something like left your headlights on? This of course means that you’re going to have a fun time trying to get it started again. Your best bet is to grab a pair of jumper cables (always carry these) and try to find someone willing to give you a jump. However, if you have a Porta-Jump, you won’t need to worry about messing with any of that. This is one of those gadgets that will become almost a necessity to carry around, provided it works as well as it boasts. The cube measures 3” x 3” x 2-1/2”, which is much smaller than any such device I’ve ever seen. (Read the full post about ‘Portra-Jump is tiny, will jump start your car’…)

Text Messaging on Qantas Flights
Those taking domestic flights on Qantas can enjoy sending and receiving text messages as well as emails sometime in the near future. The trial lasting from April till January next year involves a Boeing 767 that has been fitted with the necessary hardware to facilitate this exchange of information, with Airbus A330 jets to receive similar treatment later this year. Such modifications will enable cell phones and portable devices to be used without causing any interference to the aircraft systems or ground communication network. You won’t be able to make or receive voice calls though, but the thought of Mario Karting with another person on the other end of the aisle is very, very enticing.
