Filed under: LaptopsAccording to a report on the lately-talkative Acer, the company’s first iteration of Eee PC-competition will be somewhat cheaper than ASUS’ current (and future) sticker prices. In a scant article, speculation abounds that the first wave of Acer-made 8.9-inch laptops will be priced around $350 to $400, while ASUS will market its 8.9-inch micro-top for $50 to $100 more. Word on the street is that Acer will launch its cheapo solution sometime in May, but ASUS will preempt the introduction with an April landing for the 2nd generation Eee. Meizu’s M8 Mini One has been getting a lot of media attention since it first came out because of its eerie resemblance to another touchscreen enabled mobile phone from another side of the world. Meizu’s M8 is now catching a lot of eyes again, with the release of its updated interface pictures. (Note that the interface has already been updated even though the product itself has not even shipped yet). The photos provide a sneak peek at the Meizu Mini-One’s music player interface, which can be viewed either in portrait or landscape mode. Rather than emulating the Apple iphone’s minimalist interface and showing widgets one at a time, the new Mini-One’s interface now crams all you could ever want to see about your music on the wide touchscreen display. The guitars help to bring you one step closer to the real thing by giving you the look and feel of a real wood guitar. You have a couple of choices when having a guitar made from ready made guitars which feature Ozzy Osbourne, Megadeth, Kiss to name a few. Posted Mar 24th 2008 2:07AM by Thomas RickerFiled under: Gaming, HDTV, Portable VideoIf PCWorld is correct, then it looks like Sony’s pending, PS3 2.20 firmware will have at least one little surprise for movie buffs. As if the inclusion of Blu-ray’s BD-Live interactivity and the removal of the 2GB DivX and WMV file-size cap wasn’t enough, PCWorld says that can also expect the introduction of portable copy. With it, users will be able to copy a PSP formatted (and DRM’d) version of the film directly to their PSP — no UMD required. Xantrex Gateway is a device that was developed specially to gather performance data on rooftop solar electric panels, transmitting information gathered to a computer via WiFi. Devices such as this can be commonly found in large-scale installations at corporations or power plants, but the Xantrex Gateway has narrowed down its market to people’s homes and small-scale solar power installations instead. After all, monitoring performance of your own solar panels is essential since state rebates can be tied to performance, so it pays to ensure that your solar panels operate to their full capacity as much as possible.
