In the “is this really necessary” department, you’ll find the Ziszor handheld paper shredder. Everything in this day and age gets miniaturized, huh? The perfect use of this gadget for those on-the-go execs who need to shred ATM receipts or perhaps those guys in the West Wing who only seem to get information via little pieces of paper which they promptly eat. Kidding. But if they had a Ziszor, no more indigestion. The Ziszor is 10″ long and weighs less than 1.5lbs, nice and light. It also has an attachable plastic bag to catch all those little shreddings. Is that a word? Runs on 4 AA batteries which is probably where a lot of the weight lies. (Read the full post about ‘Ziszor - Portable Paper Shredder’…)

LG’s KF750 is the third generation of the Black Label series, but it still lacks a name unlike its predecessors, the Chocolate and Shine. What do you think would be a name apt for the LF750? No matter what your guess is, April 24th is the official date where the brand name will be revealed, along with the handset’s complete specifications. The only details we know about the KF750 is it carrying a 5 megapixel camera while using pretty hardy materials like carbon fiber and tempered glass. If you spend most part of your day alone, sitting in front of a computer with no one to chat, and at the same time love USB gadgets, check out the Tengu. Basically, the small toy has bright LEDs that responds to different sounds, by displaying (14) various faces. Tengu can sing along while you’re listening to your favorite tunes, and also has a function to lip sync as you speak. I think Tengu is suppose to make that lonely feel go away, because you’ll start interacting with it, but I don’t know if a gadget like this will work with everyone. To get it working just blow on his face, and if you want to see another facial expression, simply blow on the mic. (Read the full post about ‘Tengu: Facial Expression Toy’…)

Friday morning my DSL provider decided (or maybe the decision was made for them) to go out of business with no warning. I’ve had dreams, well nightmares really, about just such an incident occurring and was in true denial Friday night through Sunday morning. Until Sunday afternoon, the only Internet connections I had were a blackberry and a Treo which are decently slow at my house. Basically I was able to check email and that’s it (hence the reason there haven’t been any posts from me over the past few days). What would you do? Take our poll… I can tell you my wife curled up into the fetal position and started shouting obscenities at inanimate objects while I went into denial and hibernated for much of the weekend while trying to catch up on some much needed sleep. Like the Eee? If you’re enthusiastically shaking your head in the affirmative, perhaps you’ll want to check out Fukato’s low-cost Datacask (cheery, right?). Like the Jisus before it, the computer-maker hopes to garner some of that cheapo laptop market with this black and white number, which sports an 8-inch, 800 x 480 display, a 500MHz AMD Geode CPU, a 20GB 60GB hard drive, 512MB of RAM, and a (surprise!) Linux-based OS. The little dude will be hitting European shelves sometime in May for €279 (or about $440). (Read the full post about ‘Fukato’s Eee-ish Datacask enters your life in May’…)

An eBay auction for four limited edition HTC Touch handsets is currently in the works, with the lowest bid positioned at a measly 1.05 Singapore dollars ($0.78 US) and the highest bid at a still fairly cheap 151 Singapore dollars ($111.49 US). Proceeds from the sales of these four unique handsets will go straight to the bank of the Children’s Cancer Foundation, which is proof that HTC knows the right way to fairly share its blessings. Other than being helpful to cancer patients and adding publicity to its HTC Touch handset line, I can’t find any other reason why HTC might want to do something like this? Looking to attract more fashionable users? That could be a good theory. (Read the full post about ‘Limited edition HTC Touch available in four new colors, only if you’re in Singapore’…)
