by Darren Murph, posted Apr 25th 2008 at 5:00PM Got yourself an Archos TV+? How’s about a WiFi-enabled 605 / 705 PMP? Even if you’re sadly answering “no” to the latter question, folks with a Windows or Windows Mobile-based machine can still get in on the placeshifting action, as Archos has just announced a swank new TV+ plug-in that brings Slingbox capabilities to those devices. The May-bound TVportation application, which will be available gratis for those who register their Archos TV+ on the firm’s website (it’s $49.99 otherwise), simply enables users to control their set-top-box from anywhere where WiFi is accessible, giving users the ability to watch live TV on their handheld. Summer is coming soon, so it makes perfect sense that the mercury is going to shoot up pretty soon with everyone opting for thinner cotton shirts. The USB Flower Fan provides some much needed relief, drawing power from your computer’s USB port in order to power the USB Flower Fan. Alternatively, if you aren’t in the vicinity of a USB port, there is always the option to use a trio of AAA batteries instead. The blades are made out of plastic for your safety, and despite that, it is able to generate a pretty strong breeze to help you cool down. The USB Flower Fan retails for $11.50 a pop.

We first learned about Crucial prepping SSD’s in both a 32GB and 64GB size back in early January, but at the time we were yet to learn about any pricing or a time frame for an actual release. Well it turns out the drives are now shipping and although they would make a nice upgrade for alot of notebooks on the market, their price is going to be a barrier for many folks. The 32GB model is retailing for $800, while the 64GB is a whopping $1,500. Its a shame because the drives are the notebook-sized 2.5-inch, which means, assuming you were comfortable enough to open up your notebook, would make a perfect replacement or upgrade drive. The upcoming 3G blackberry phone for AT&T from RIM has been delayed, moving the launch date to August from the originally planned June date. Not many reasons were given, but the main speculated one concerned AT&T’s thoughts about its call quality. Other folks prefer something more dramatic, claiming that AT&T is looking for a tech glitch as an excuse to make way for the Apple 3G iphone which will be released sometime this June, pretty much the same way blockbuster movies in the cinema are not released on the same week so that they don’t have to compete with the consumer for their dollars. Whatever it is, I just hope the 3G BlackBerry will boast some pretty noteworthy features. (Read the full post about ‘RIM Delays 3G BlackBerry Phone’…)

The mother of all 3G iPhone rumors has been smashed, ladies and gentlemen, by none other than an Apple fanboy who happened to pass by a mobile phone accessories store in Hong Kong. While the rest of us here have been speculating (some even giggling) about the possibilities of a glossy black 3G iPhone coming in June, those in Hong Kong may already be aware that the photo of the alleged 3G iPhone on the Internet right now is absolutely and positively not a photo of the real thing. Because what the thing in the photo really was, according to the source of the image above, is none other than a glossy black custom iphone back case, which you can purchase for yourself right now if you were in Hong Kong. Safety is a top priority in any motorsports, and the same applies to Toyota who is involved in F1. The Japanese auto manufacturer has developed a computer simulation which recreates high speed accidents and their effects on human physiology. Known as Total Human Model Safety (THUMS), the FIA Institute and Toyota have managed to look into various serious injuries sustained in accidents which are difficult to measure with conventional crash-test dummies. Results from this study will be released as soon as it is completed, and it is hoped that this technology will help study high speed rear impact crashes in the FIA Formula One World Championship and Indy Racing League (IRL). by Donald Melanson, posted Apr 25th 2008 at 12:24PM Last we saw the Uno electric unicycle it was looking very much like the prototype it was, but as you can see above, it seems that the teenage engineers behind it have been doing anything but slacking in the ensuing months. As Motorcycle Mojo reports, the third incarnation of the vehicle recently made its debut at the 2008 National Motorcycle Show in Toronto, with it sporting some custom-made wheels, a stylin’ new body, and a few changes under the hood as well. That latter bit apparently even included a trip to a robotics and gyro expert in California, who helped to fine tune the two gyros the Uno uses for turning and forward and backward motion (something you probably want to get right).
