When was the last time you found yourself in a store looking to purchase a new CD player? I’m not talking about one for your car, or even a portable one, but just a CD player for a room in your house. If you’re anything like me, it’s been a very long time. This is why companies that still make such devices are trying their hardest to make CD players more appealing to consumers. Take this strange CD-T300 Pro for example. Shanling, the company responsible for creating this device specializes in making rather unique products. They stand apart both inside and out. It’s easy to see how the neon lights and interesting shapes are going to draw a few strange glances from visitors in your house, but that’s not what really sets this apart from the rest of the crowd. Soft errors, or errors which are not physically the result of flaws inside of a chip itself, but rather are those kinds of errors which manifest themselves in the presence of radiation of some kind, are a constant pain in the computer. They result in data that cannot be relied upon and no matter how hard researchers have tried, the truth is out computers will compute something wrong, depending on workload, once every few days to several thousand years. In supercomputing, this kind of non-predictable error results in something called MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures).

As far as I can tell, the head mounted video viewers haven’t exactly made a killing in the consumer electronics market yet. The myvu put itself on prominent display at CES Las Vegas this year, and you can read about that on our Sister Site. The Vuzix iWear VR920 was also on display at CES, and it looks somewhat promising. This next candidate in this growing head mounted video market is the i-Bean. This one is different from the other two aforementioned products because it is not goggles, but an attachment for regular sunglasses or regular glasses. All you have to do is suction cup them onto your usual eyewear. The i-Bean says that it produces an image that is equivalent to a 21 inch screen from a distance of one meter away. A lot of rumors have been floating around lately about the upcoming 3G iPhone. Not just that the fabled phone will be reaching the hands of consumers within the next few months, but also that we may see it for sale for just $199. After an original price of $599 (8GB) then it was later dropped to $399, for which Apple got lots of negative press, so seeing the next-gen iPhone at $199 would be pretty incredible.
Supposing this is all true, why would AT&T want to offer up a $200 subsidy on something that has been such a huge hit?

I can’t help but remember back to 1989, when the Tim Burton Batman film swept the box office. This prompted a whole slew of Batman-related products to hit the market, and consumers worldwide bought them en masse. Unfortunately, Batman merchandise completely tanked when they were re-released for Batman Returns. It appears that this summer’s The Dark Knight, another Batman sequel, still has merchandizing potential. A company called Pop Gadget is putting out a slough of Batman products including Iron-on patches, 3D Magnet Heads, LCD Watches, and the Bat Logo MP3. The Bat logo MP3 Player has 1GB worth of memory, which is enough for about 240 songs. (Read the full post about ‘Batman MP3 Player’…)
Deal Locker has just sent word that it will soon be launching printable grocery coupons. As of this writing some coupons are available at this link. In addition, you can sign up to receive an e-mail with coupons.
With the rising cost of groceries, it’s nice to see some online initiatives to help control those costs. Deal Locker is new to the game but there’s plenty of room to play. Another notable online coupon service is Redplum, though I haven’t been too impressed with the company’s offering to date.
This is going to be the space to watch as more people start hunting for coupons to take down the cost of goods in a struggling economy.

The yet-to-be officially announced Nokia 6205 could be seen with these photos. The Nokia 6205 will be an entry-level handset exclusively for Verizon Wireless. There is not much known information about the Nokia 6205 just yet, although the handset will reportedly feature 1x data and no EV-DO, external music controls, and basic VGA camera with flash. Since the images on the screen look small, Phone Arena surmises that it probably doesn’t have QVGA resolution. In all, the clamshell Nokia 6205 seems to be a very basic (hopefully) low-end phone.
