Fujitsu lets loose U810, T2010 tablet PCs
Fujitsu wasn’t all that specific about pricing or release details when it announced its new U810 and T2010 tablet PCs earlier this year, but it looks like both have now finally made their way out the door. In case you missed it, the big addition this time around is the inclusion of a built-in HSPA modem (and rather obvious antenna), which will run you an extra $200 on top of the $999 and $1,499 base prices for the U810 and T2010, respectively. Otherwise, you can expect the same 5.6-inch and 12.1-inch displays as before, along with the usual 800MHz Intel A110 processor on the U810 and a decidedly speedier Core 2 Duo 7600 processor on the T2010, among other specs not too different from the previous models. Worried about the integrity and security of your pesonal data when it’s time to rid yourselves of them? Let the Hard Disk Crusher help you out.

The device you see above is the Hard Disk Crusher device by EDR Solutions. The Hard Disk Crusher which weighs almost 6 stones can crush HDDs at the rate one per 10 seconds. It runs powered by electricity through a standard outlet and has the capacity to crush 100,000 hard disks without the need for servicing. The caveat: it costs 5,750.

Review: AT&T Mobile TV — Media Flows Like Greased Lightning
Do we really need another way to rot our brains? Yes, yes we do — and live TV on our phones is just the ticket. The latest effort to get the boob tube on a mobile device is AT&T’s Mobile TV with FLO (Forward Link Only), and it’s surprisingly good. Coupled with the LG Vu phone, it’s a match made in couch-potato heaven. The MediaFLO service uses an unusual, nonstandard bit of spectrum to ensure that the streaming of your favorite flicks is uninterrupted. Instead of downloading the data over AT&T’s 3-G network, the Qualcomm-developed technology operates primarily on the old UHF television band, though it does tap into the 3-G network in order to get started. One of the attractions of the upcoming Maker Faire is all the displays of terrifying pyrotechnic art. Like this massive, 20-foot-tall sculpture of a woman made out of 10-inch pipe, scrap metal, and lots and lots of fire.

In this Wired.com video, artists Dan Das Mann and Karen Cusolito demo their 6-ton sculpture, Epiphany at their Oakland, California, industrial-arts space.

Gadget Lab will be at Maker Faire all weekend long, posting news, photos and video from the world’s largest gathering of do-it-yourselfers. If you’ve got news or tips about the Faire, send them to Wired.com reporters Jenna Wortham and Alexis Madrigal.
