EVGA intros sub-$100 UV12 and UV16 USB graphics adapters
by Darren Murph, posted May 5th 2008 at 6:28PMWe’ve heard your cries for USB-to-DVI adapters that don’t cost two arms and a good portion of your left leg, and apparently so has EVGA. Announced today with DisplayLink, the company is serving up two new USB graphics adapters (UGAs) in the UV Plus+ family of wares, both of which are hitting resellers as we speak for “well under $100.” Both peripherals are designed to play nice in Windows XP and Vista, and while the UV12 supports resolutions up to 1,280 x 1,024 (1,440 x 900 widescreen), the UV16 goes all the way up to 1,600 x 1,200 (1,680 x 1,050 widescreen). Kudos for lowering the bar EVGA, now it’s time for everyone else to follow suit.ReadPermalin (Read the full post about ‘EVGA intros sub-$100 UV12 and UV16 USB graphics adapters’…)

The Newsroom Barometer 2008 survey, carried out by market research firm Zogby International for the World Editors Forum, has found that the majority of industry execs believe printed news will be free in the future.

The survey compiled the responses of 704 senior news executives. Last year when it was carried out the survey found 48% of respondents believed printed and online news would be free in the future. This year that number has increased to 56%. On top of that 86% of respondents want more digital integration in news rooms and around 66% believe online and mobile news will be the most used mediums for accessing news within 10 years.

The largest threats to the news industry in general are seen as young people not reading newspapers and the increasing rate at which news is delivered.
