by Paul Miller, posted May 12th 2008 at 2:20PM Nintendo just brought WiiWare to the States, which means you can finally download original games to the console — not just the classics available on the Virtual Console. While we’re sure the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles entry and the charming LostWinds platformer will do quite well for themselves, we’ve been drooling over Defend you Castle, the Flash version of which has sucked more productive hours out of us than we’d care to admit — unemployment here we come! Usually, when a laptop is stolen its gone for good. But, the thieves who took Kait Duplaga’s MacBook will be counting themselves unlucky after being caught by way of a photo Kait took of them after they had stolen her laptop.
The thieves broke in to an apartment shared by 3 young individuals. They managed to grab all of the typical gadgets you would expect to find in a young professionals abode including flat-screen TVs, DVD players, iPods, videogames and 2 laptops. One of those laptops was Kait’s MacBook, however, and she works in an Apple store therefore having an intimate knowledge of the software contained on it.

AT&T has just announced that it will be the first carrier to offer the recently released blackberry Bold 9000 this summer on an exclusive basis. Seems as though AT&T gets all the best phones so far, and their crown jewel is certainly the iphone. Subscribers on T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon need not fret though, as after summer the Bold will probably make its debut on the mentioned carriers, giving AT&T a few months to milk it for all it is worth. So far word on the street has it that the handset will come with a 2-year contract and a $300 price tag. (Read the full post about ‘AT&T Confirms BlackBerry Bold’…)

Remember that innovative Wi-Fi-enabled SD card aptly named the Eye-Fi? Well Eye-Fi, which is what the company is also called, must have been overwhelmed by the success of their product that they decided to add not just one new model, but three to the Eye-Fi SD card series. So, we now have the Eye-Fi Share, Eye-Fi Home and the Eye-Fi Explore. Actually, there’s not too many differences with these three models. It is still the same Wi-Fi enabled SD card that was launched not so long ago. For instance, both the Eye-Fi Share and Eye-Fi Home are almost identical to the current Eye-Fi models in terms of features. However, Eye-Fi home is geared for users who want to sync their SD card to their PCs only. (Read the full post about ‘Eye-Fi ‘s got three new Wi-Fi SD card models; share, home, explore’…)

Does the keypad lock on your phone annoy you? Well, you just might think different after you hear this. A soldier in Afghanistan accidentally called his parents while he was in the middle of a heated battle. The result was a terrifying voicemail that included the son yelling about needing more ammo and his gun having problems-and cutting off just as another soldier yelled “INCOMING!” His parents were understandably shaken but managed to get a hold of their embarrassed son, who assured them he was okay. Thank goodness there was a happy ending, but am I the only one wondering which provider offers battlefield coverage? Talk about great cell coverage! We also have to mention the thanks that should go out (Read the full post about ‘Soldier in Afghanistan accidentally calls home during battle’…)

Portable media players with 250GB of internal storage are hard to come by, for one many people don’t really need anywhere close to that amount of storage. However, Newman has recently introduced a player that comes in a few different models with storage options ranging from 80GB up to 250GB. The M8000 comes loaded with many nice features including 4-inch TFT screen, built-in camera, TV-Out, gaming support, a PVR and other multimedia support. It is also an HD quality portable media player and the video clarity should be really good, especially with the big 4-inch screen.
