The Pioneer CDJ-400 system does away with whatever advantages vinyl has over regular CDs where DJs are concerned, as it boasts a new feature known as ‘vinyl mode’. In this mode, you will be able to interact with a CD the same manner one would do with a record - the moment you touch the platter, the disc will stop, while moving it forwards and backwards will enable you to scratch, and queuing the next track ready is but a snap. With the inclusion of an outer ring, it allows the DJ to push and pull the CD, increasing or decreasing the track playing speed accordingly. Guess there really isn’t much reason to store vinyls any more other than for sentimental value. (Read the full post about ‘Pioneer CDJ-400 says goodbye to vinyl’…)

Just when you thought that VIA’s small Pico ITX motherboards could not get any smaller, they apparently dropped the huge CPU fan in favor of new fanless models. These new motherboards make it easier for you to fit a PC into even more places. Unfortunately, the smaller size comes with a sacrifice of processing power as the EPIA PX5000EG will come with a VIA C7 500MHz clocked processor. What are some of the uses that you can think of for this? Tags: cable, Ogg, DAB, lcd (Read the full post about ‘VIA Pico ITX Mobo Gets Smaller’…)

Folks who can’t wait for Metal Gear Solid 4 to come out on the PS3 can at least get their hands on the MGS4 Bluetooth headset. The MGS4 Headset is a standard Bluetooth 2.0 hands-free device, which means it can be paired with both the playstation 3 and any Bluetooth-enabled cell phone so you can rock it both at home and on the street. We’re certainly down to roll with it in public, as it offers a good deal of contrast to the stand-issue Bluetooth headsets on the street. Spec-wise its battery life is rated at 8-hours of talk time and 160-hours of standby. I believe this will see more action outside of the home rather than in front of the PS3 itself, and MGS fans can give each other smug looks as they pass by on the street, with Joe Public not knowing any better. If you had a concept design in mind that involved using a circular LCD display, up until now you’d be pretty much out of luck at seeing your invention reach the production stage. Though now, LG has announced their new LCD displays which take on elliptical and circular shapes. LG Display has announced their success in developing the world’s largest 6-inch elliptical and 1.4-inch circular-shaped LCDs which take a side-step away from the traditional use of rectangular displays, and inches closer to full-production of alternative display form factors. The 6-inch elliptical LCD measures 78.8 x 131.4 mm, while the smaller 1.4-inch circular LCD measures only 35.5 mm diameter. Most, if not all toilets in Japan have built-in bidets, but how many of those you know are equipped with a remote control? Blooming Bidet has that added touch of elegance, allowing you to wield full control over the toilet including the water spray intensity and hot air aimed at your behind. I like the huge Stop button that ought to be easy enough to get things under control should you operate this while drunk. Flushing is automatic, hence the missing Flush button, but I would have liked to see a manual option. After all, some logs can be pretty stubborn when it comes to taking a ride down the sewer pipes.
