Samsung i640 Review - Trusted Reviews
Trusted Reviews reviews the Samsung i640 and writes, “There is a front-facing camera for video calling. The 2-megapixel main camera is not much to write home about but it has a self-portrait mirror, and its back facing lens is hidden behind the slide when it is not needed, which should help with protection against scratching…The side-mounted camera button has long and short press functions; with a short press taking you to the Windows Mobile ‘Quick List’ profile switcher and a long press activating the camera itself…With the camera active, pressing up and down on the navi button accesses zoom while pressing left and right controls white balance. Leaked press photo’s; its the LG VX8610 Decoy from Verizon Wireless

Nokia 6555 Review - the Washingtonpost
The Washingtonpost reviews the Nokia 6555 and writes, “On the imaging front, the Nokia 6555’s 1.3-megapixel camera does a solid job reproducing colors but scored poorly in terms of resolution and noise. You probably won’t be framing any photos you take with the 6555…Overall, the Nokia 6555 offers users a solid feature set for an entry-level phone, but with a few drawbacks you might expect from any phone you’re getting for free with a contract. The lack of multimedia functionality is an annoyance, but realistically you probably aren’t going to find a great music or camera phone at this price.” Read more about the Nokia 6555. Sanyo crams SSDs into new duo of in-car navigation systems
by Darren Murph, posted May 24th 2008 at 3:01PM If you’ve ran smack into any flavor of foreign object while waiting impatiently for your navigator to “recalculate,” you’ll likely be salivating for Sanyo’s latest duo. The NVA-MS1280DT and NVA-MS1180DT each feature a 4GB SSD drive (though the former adds a 4GB SD card and DVD support), a 7-inch QVGA display, 43-watt x 4 internal amplifier, MP3 / WMA / AAC playback, a 1-seg TV tuner, 3D maps, FM tuner and ipod support. In all seriousness, the SSD is bundled in not so much for its speed, but for its reliability — either way, we can’t help but be enamored. Both units are slated to land in June for ¥181,650 ($1,761) and ¥155,400 ($1,506), respectively, so it’s fairly easy to see those solid state disc (Read the full post about ‘Sanyo crams SSDs into new duo of in-car navigation systems’…)

Register Hardware reviews the LG KF600 and writes, “The camera is capable of capturing some finely detailed shots, with quite vibrant colour rendition. Its automatic metering system adjusts quickly to changing lighting conditions and exposure is generally good. In low light levels, the performance isn’t quite so good, and the flash option could be better – it is bright for short-range shots, but doesn’t illuminate with much finesse.”

Meizu M8 interface redesigned yet again, gets all sparkly
by Joshua Fruhlinger, posted May 24th 2008 at 11:41AM In the latest of what’s becoming a long history of tweaks to the Meizu M8 interface, Meizu CEO Jack Wong unleashed some new shots of the upcoming UI to his adoring fans. The new interface is designed by eico design — who have also worked with Google, Lenovo, and Philips — and looks to have a visually-satisfying sparkle animation for selected items (unless the battery above is just leaking). Another addition appears to be LED-styled status updates to applications, like number of missed calls and unread messages. Spotlight Torch

Spotlight Torch
The Spotlight Torch is definitely nifty to have in an emergency, and being of such a diminutive size, it makes perfect sense to carry one in the car at all times just in case of an emergency. While it is waterproof, make sure it doesn’t stay underwater for over half an hour. Best of all for outdoor types, the Spotlight is fully submersible in water too. From changing a tyre during a monsoon to executing elaborate James Bond-style aquatic stunts, it won’t let you down when the going gets wet - which is more than we can say for your car insurance when they hear about your 007 underwater antics. It’s about the same size as the old lighter from your car’s socket, but potentially far more useful. (Read the full post about ‘Spotlight Torch’…)

Cyclops Visor replica

Cyclops Visor replica
Ever wondered how Cyclops aka Scott Summers viewed the world from his ruby quartz visor? Sure, he isn’t as manly as Wolverine, but he will definitely be a person whom mom would approve of you bringing home. Get a glimpse into his world with the Cyclops Visor replica. This Cyclops Visor replica is authentically duplicated from the actual 20th Century Fox filming prop. Ruby quartz being a little too expensive to use, this replica has red iridium polarized sunglass lens (which means they function as regular shades, too). The Cyclops Visor Replica folds to a convenient size and can be stored in the included full metal display box. The box is a piece of art too - embossed with the X-Men logo as it is. Executive Chefs One Second Probe And Surface Thermometer
The Executive Chefs One Second Probe And Surface Thermometer is one mean device, touted to be favored by “professional chefs and commercial food service facilities for its speed and accuracy.” This thermometer’s infrared sensor and flip-up thermocouple probe have a one-second response time for instantly measuring the temperature of cooking surfaces or the inner temperature of roasts or liquids. By merely aiming its lens at a target area and pressing a button, it displays the surface temperature from -67° F to 482° F on the LCD panel, with accuracy of ± 7°. It can also be set to display the temperature continuously or just when it registers above or below a pre-set threshold.
