Filed in archive Photoshop by jim on May 28, 2008 Adobe's Photoshop line of graphics programs are about as extensive as anyone could wish for, but let's be honest, they do have a very steep learning curve. As if that's not enough, there are thousands of plugins and actions that can be used with these programs, which is great, if you know how to use them. I found a website with links to about 20 helpful free Adobe Photoshop tutorials that should help you, and me, get the most from these programs. Today marks the end of Geek.com’s HP HDX Dragon Giveaway, so the survey is closed down and no more applicants will be accepted. That means today a winner will be chosen at random and contacted. That person will have 72 hours to respond, after which we’ll arrange for shipping and make sure all the loose ends are tied. This post will be updated with any news.
The giveaway ended up being a smashing success and we’ll definitely be spending a lot of time going over the survey results. In addition to the survey numbers about a third of the entrants left comments, so each of those will be read and given due consideration as well.
While the giveaway is over at Geek there are still seven great chances to win.

The Japanese Prime Minister, Yasuo Fukuda, has this week approved a new initiative to warn parents across Japan about the dangers of allowing their children to use mobile phones for long periods of time.
The initiative was thought up as a response to the growing number of children thought to be addicted to mobile phone use. Their use is going on for several hours a day and stopping children from getting involved in other activities away from the phones.
Masahura Kuba, the government official in charge of the initiative, commented:
Japanese parents are giving cell phones to their children without giving it enough thought … In Japan, cell phones have become an expensive toy.

Well, by now I hope you have already seen our unboxing set that we posted yesterday, but now its time for a quick hands on review with the Roku Netflix Player. First off the player is small, which may be good or bad depending on your setup. I say this only because it does take up very little space in your entertainment stack, but similar to game consoles and the AppleTV its another odd size device that you will have to make a place for. Lucky for us, we had a nice spot to sneak it in. The setup was easy an process and the player comes with the remote, a power adapter and a set of cables to hook it up. The setup was simple, find an empty set of plugs on your TV, plug the cables into the TV and into the player, then plug in the power adapter.
