Dell’s mini notebook spotted

Dell’s mini notebook spotted
With the gaining popularity of ultra-portable and low-cost notebook computers, like the Asus Eee 701 PC, HP 2133 and 3K RazorBook 400, it is no surprise that Dell is jumping in on the mini notebook arena. Fortunately, Gizmodo was able to spot the company’s supposed offering when Brian Lam caught Micheal Dell at the All Things Digital conference carrying a small red notebook sporting the Dell logo. Unfortunately, Dell is being tight-lipped and wasn’t willing to spill the beans on the specs. Therefore, information is sparse; no word on what OS it is running, its screen size, or what type of processor it is using, let alone its price tag. Giant Fabric Keyboard

Giant Fabric Keyboard
Is this a labor of love or what - the Giant Fabric Keyboard. Conceived and built entirely by Maurin Donneaud, this unique keyboard is definitely not the thing if you’re overwhelmed with plenty of emails to reply, but instead would make a suitable practice ground for folks who still think that the $1,000,000 Chance of a Lifetime gameshow is still in circulation. Different lengths of conductive fabric, a perforated foam core, and an Arduino were all used in constructing this fully functional keyboard meant for giants. Apple’s .Mac (Google) overhaul finally near?
by Thomas Ricker, posted May 30th 2008 at 5:32AM Warning: rumor and speculation ahead. Here’s an oldie but a goodie. Remember rumors last year that Apple’s .Mac was about to get a Google overhaul? It’s back with a bullet thanks to the latest 10.5.3 Leopard update. That iCal code snippet above replaces “.Mac” with the “%@” variable which Apple can fill-in later with any name it chooses. If that’s not enough of a hint then there’s always the text, “the new name of Apple’s online service (was .Mac).” This code change has also been found in the newly updated Safari and Mail apps and did not exist prior to the 10.5.3 update. So now the question: will the name change, presumably coming next week at WWDC, usher in Jobs’ promise to “make up for lost tim (Read the full post about ‘Apple’s .Mac (Google) overhaul finally near?’…)

Unfortunately those Nintendo DS good times appear to be over as the DS WiFi service at Mcdonalds has been discontinued. The reason for the service shutdown is the result of the US contract, put together by Nintendo, McDonald’s and WiFi provider Wayport, expired last November without anyone seeing the need to renew it.

Home based golf simulator goes indoors as well as out.
Everyone remembers the scene in Caddyshack. Not that scene. Not that scene either. But the one where the priest is playing the greatest golf game of his life in the worth storm in decades and on his last shot, he misses the put and the course record. He curses to the heavens and is struck down by lightning for his imputence. Well, it would surprise you to know that happens a lot. Every year, hundreds of golfers get struck by lightning while trying to get in a quick 9 holes. Even famed golfer Lee Trevino was hit by a sideways bolt of lightning in 1975. So, how does a foursome get their round in when the clouds go dark? The Eball Golf Simulator, of course. But it’s not cheap. Dean Kamen’s Robot Arm Grabs More Publicity
Dean Kamen showed some video of the impressive, mind-controlled prosthetic robot arm he’s invented today at D6 in Carlsbad, California. Kamen has been showing the arm off since early 2007, usually via video clips. But today’s demonstration at D6 was impressive enough that it’s got the gadget blogs and the Twitterverse all aflutter today. Deservedly so: Kamen’s arm, dubbed "Luke" (after Skywalker, I assume), is an incredibly sophisticated bit of engineering that’s light-years ahead of the clamping "claws" that many amputees are forced to use today. The arm is fully articulated, giving the user the same degrees of movement as a natural arm, and is sensitive enough to pick up a piece of paper, a wineglass or even a grape without mishap.
