Recycled energy generator makes power from wasted heat
Here is a great idea. Take something that is normally an unwanted by-product from most industrial applications and then make electricity out of it. It’s a simple and common sense idea that green energy company, ElectraTherm, is hoping people will start utilizing on a regular basis. ElectraTherm is the maker of commercial waste heat generators and recently installed their very first 50kW “Green Machine” at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. The generator operates by taking wasted heat that would normally be vented outside, and instead, channels the heat inside the “Green Machine” to warm working fluid to create gas. Industrial Computing Guardian Model 135 PDA
Industrial Computing has expanded its Guardian line of Windows CE 5.0-powered “military-grade” PDAs by introducing the dust- and drop-proof Guardian Model 135. It might not look as though it is up to the task when it comes to harsh environments, but it should be more than adequate for the average butterfingers who works in rather harsh environments. It complies with MIL-STD-810F and IP67 standards, enabling it to shrug off five-foot drops to concrete, being sprayed with water, or even being immersed. It will also outlast the average human in the heat, operating in temperatures of up to 140 deg. F. For more details on the specifications, check out the list after the jump. Audi R8 boasts LEDs aplenty

Audi R8 boasts LEDs aplenty
Audi has already manged to work some LEDs into a few of its cars (concepts and otherwise), but the automaker has gone all out with its latest Audi R8, which employs LEDs for seemingly every lighting function. That includes the 24-LED running lamps the R8 had before, along with some brand LED high and low beam headlights, and LED turn signals, which add up to some 54 LEDs in all. Of course, given the prices that single LED bulbs demand these days, it should come as no surprise that this is quite the pricey option, with it adding a full €3,590 (or about $5,560) to the R8’s already lofty sticker price.
