Hasselblad H3DII-50 is Mind-Boggling
Hasselblad’s H3DII-50 is the company’s sharpest ever camera, capable of capturing 50 megapixel images with easy thanks to a new 36mm x 48mm Kodak sensor that measures double any full-frame sensor from a digital SLR. It will rely on CompactFlash (CF) memory cards as the storage medium of choice, or you can also use Hasselblad’s very own Image Bank hard drives if you want to. Better get a whole stack of CF cards if you ask me as 50 megapixel images will fill those up pretty fast no matter how large the capacity. The H3DII-50 comes with FireWire connectivity, making it possible to connect to a computer for live uploading. There is no word on pricing or availability as at press time. Prefab, Self Powered Revolving Towers: Starting Price $400 Million
The Dynamic Tower is a new, off-the-shelf skyscraper which qualifies as a gadget because it packs in so many weird features. First, it’s a prefab. The floors are built off-site and are shipped in, where they are then hoisted and joined to a central spindle, ending up much like a game of Tower of Hanoi. Thus, construction is fast: the building goes up at a rate of one floor per week. So, if you had a building made of donuts on a stick, what would you do? You’d make the floors spin, right? That’s exactly what the Dynamic Tower’s architect, Dr. David Fisher, has done. Each floor will slowly revolve, continually altering the shape of the tower. LED Heart-Shaped Pillow
Everyone can always make do with some gifts in their life, as it helps them feel wanted and loved. The LED Heart-Shaped Pillow says a whole lot, offering a comfortable place to lie on when you’re feeling low or simply just want to get comfortable on the couch. It works best when the lights are turned off, and I would recommend a mug of hot chocolate to go along with this $24 purchase to cap off a perfect winter evening with your loved one. Video: Tiny hands-on with Swinxs
by Thomas Ricker, posted Jul 8th 2008 at 6:43AM When this Swinxs RFID game console arrived at the doorstep of our European annex to test, we realized our dilemma: kids, we need kids, preferably the type who won’t mind being tricked into a little physical activity. Fortunately, we’ve always got a few 3-footers lurking around the Engadget “waste acre” scrounging for circuit boards to strip of their gold. Presumably then, in violation of several international child labor laws, we put Swinxs to the grueling challenge of entertaining three kids, city-hardened, and angry at the establishment after their respective 5-, 6- and 7-years of big city livin’. How did Swinxs fare? (Read the full post about ‘Video: Tiny hands-on with Swinxs’…)

iPhone Frenzy, Medialet’s monetizing the apps
Will there be iPhone frenzy on July 11? We know that there will be plenty of phones to go around, but still my friends and I are already planning to line up at the Apple Store in the wee hours of July 11th to get first dibs. Why do we care this much about a mobile phone upgrade? The new iPhone 3G has a lot going for it—simply stated, the pricing strategy alone is a win-win (we’ll pay less upfront and about $40 more in the long-term). But, it’s not about the price or the 3G tech, or the new plastics involved. Far more significant than the hardware upgrades, all iPhones will be able to connect to the App Store, an online service from Apple that will allow us to easily install third-party software that utilizes all of the iPhone’s capabilities. Mobile phone more fashionable than iPhone
So, here I am discussing about a design that probably is inspired (heavily?) by iphone. I have always said that it’s stupid to call any mobile with a touchscreen ‘iPhone-killer’ or a rip-off, but sometimes it is that way. This design here we are talking about is for sure inspired by iPhone and is as beautiful as the inspiration itself (dare I say, it’s more appealing than iPhone), kudos to designer Jaren Goh. His design “Basic Tab” is a mobile phone with full touchscreen and a single button (looks so). Did you say so iPhone-sque? Well as per the designer, this phones primary target is to look fashionable than to be another piece of mesmerizing tech-beauty. Now, that’s what I call “Thinking (Read the full post about ‘Mobile phone more fashionable than iPhone’…)
