Guess stuff like this is available only in Japan, and this time round we have a fashion model robot developed by the Robot Research Institute at the New Industry Research Organization, Japan. This robot is capable of imitating a pose (racy or otherwise) taken by a woman, courtesy of simultaneously controlling all 16 of its joints used for limbs, neck, waist and other body parts. It is hoped that this robot will be able to be fitted with polyethylene sheets in the future for a more human-like look, and as technology progresses, supermodels could soon be out of a job. Hopefully such a robot by then won’t suffer from embarrassing falls in front of the camera or a wardrobe malfunction. (Read the full post about ‘Fashion Model Robot in Japan’…)

TiVo and Amazon will be collaborating with one another so that folks will be able to go shopping on TV via the TiVo remote control. This new feature is known as Product Purchase, enabling TV advertisers to market products available on Amazon.com via any broadcast or cable network, any TV show, or through any of TiVo’s extensive interactive advertising features. After making the necessary selections, you can then check out your Amazon.com shopping cart. More ways for you to spend money unwittingly despite leaner economic times? I’m not too sure whether this is a good idea (pocket-wise) or not, but it sure as heck is innovative. (Read the full post about ‘TiVo and Amazon Team Up’…)

The Cupertino rumor mill is a buzz again. Like a voice crying in the wilderness, and fresh off the heals of a Steve Jobs promise that more interesting products are coming in the fall, The Giz is reporting a rumor that the long speculated MacBook Tablet will be shipping this October. The rumor comes from the same MacDailyNews source who leaked new iTunes wireless features a few months back. It talks about a MacTab which will use the same multi-touch technology as the iphone, but on a grander scale. Could it be true leak and not mere disinformation that Steve Jobs uses to ferret out loose lips and sink them? Well, there is the Apple Patent filing of a multi-touch LCD screen for tablets and laptops reported a few weeks back. (Read the full post about ‘Here we go again … another Mac Tablet rumor’…)

If Open Tech follows through with selling Mac clones, it will face legal issues just like the company that sold a similar product before it, according to an intellectual property lawyer. By selling computers with a how-to kit for users to install OS X Leopard themselves, Open Tech would be subjecting itself to contributory infringement of Apple’s end-user agreement, said Carole Handler, an intellectual property lawyer with Wildman Harrold. "Making the user instead of the company the perpetrator of any violation will not avoid the issue of a new company’s contributory infringement and/or vicarious liability for what it facilitates and enables the user to undertake," Handler said in an e-mail interview. For those of you that play something besides the plastic guitars for Guitar Hero, Belkin has created a magnetic device to make your gigs run a bit more smoothly. If you enjoy the ability of switching between guitars a whole lot, without wanting to put your amp on standby, this little connector is worth a try. It is very similar to the connectors used on MacBooks, the magnetic part that attaches to the laptop. Which also hopefully means when some drunk manages to pull your cord by tripping over it, it will cause less issues. (Read the full post about ‘Belkin’s Breakfree Guitar Magnetic Connectors’…)

You may look at this picture and wonder if the Virtual Pet is making a comeback, but it is actually something new altogether with the Jinsei Game Punchi. Takara Tomy is releasing this electronic game to celebrate Jinsei, which we know as the game of Life. I’m sure all have you have at least heard of the game of Life, where you have to make money, get a house, have kids, all with that really odd spinner. In other words, it’s your life, but in game form to make it fun. The Jinsei Game Puchi takes this game of Life to the next level as you must take 300 steps before the spinner will spin. There is a pedometer to measure the amount of steps of taken, but I suppose cheaters could just shake it. (Read the full post about ‘Jinsei lets you Walk out the Game of Life, Literally’…)
