The handheld gaming PMP not only plays back the elusive MP4 file format, but it also snaps presumably lackluster still shots with its 2-megapixel camera. You’ll also find 1GB / 2GB of built-in RAM, a USB port, AV in / out, miniSD expansion slot and some form of emulation application. This waterproof mp3 player from Lancer is definitely not the first, but it is tough enough to function in freezing temperatures while boasting enough intestinal fortitude to take in spills and falls during your next snowboard adventure down a slope. It weighs a mere 25 grams and comes with a matching pair of waterproof silicon ear buds, compatible with both MP3 and WMA audio formats and is accompanied by a lithium battery which plays your favorite tunes non-stop for up to 8 hours. Gadget Lab now has a Flickr Group, and we want your pictures. gadgets, hacks, lovingly documented unboxings, pretty much anything to do with what we write about here on the blog. It’s a little sparse right now, but we’ll be populating it with more and more of our own photographs as we go, and with our zillions of avid, web 2.0 savvy readers, we’re hoping that it will become another great place for gadget lovers to hang out. There will also be discussions. It’s your way to bring up the subjects and stories you like (with photos, of course). by Darren Murph, posted Jul 25th 2008 at 3:01AM We’re still a bit gun shy when it comes to surfing over to PEAK Surgical’s website after watching that PlasmaBlade demonstration video, but a new release from the outfit affirms that said electrosurgery scalpel has just been approved for use by the US Food and Drug Administration. The “tissue dissection system,” as it’s so gruesomely called, has been given 501(k) clearance, meaning that PEAK can now market its tool for use in general surgery. So, anxious to camp out and be the first in the country to get sliced and diced by one of these? This is one of those gadgets you can only get away with if you’re either married, very old or completely shameless. It is a solar fan which attaches to the bill of your hat to keep you cool while out antiquing or whatever it is people do that wear strange hats. This ranks up there with the umbrella hats, both of them are just not right. I realize when it is extremely hot and you’re stuck outdoors you have to do anything you can just to keep cool. 3 has managed to snag more than 1 million in terms of sales of USB mobile broadband dongles in the areas of UK, Ireland, Italy, Sweden, Denmark and Austria. They won’t be resting on their laurels though, offering a new USB dongle this time round - the Huawei E160G. Available in either black or white colors, it will feature an integrated microSD memory card slot that is able to read microSD cards of up to 4GB in capacity. PAYG customers will have to fork out £99.99, while contract customers can get it for free or £49.99, depending on the package chosen. Brando has the new USB M.A.D. Game Pad which was specially designed to fit virtually any gamer’s needs when traveling. I’m afraid it might be just nice for smaller sized hands, but those with larger palms and long digits will find themselves feeling cramped after a while. Still, it comes with a mini-detachable steering wheel for a mini-sized driving experience if you’re into racing simulators. The USB M.A.D. Man, to think that even fingers need some massaging! What next, just a toe massager (never mind those automated foot reflexology machines)?
