Verizon Wireless has a new partner to help market its wireless services. Qwest has signed a five year agent agreement which will allow customers to secure Verizon Wireless phones and services from Qwest retail outlets and kiosks. Current Qwest Wireless customers will receive recommendations in regards to comparable Verizon Wireless calling plans and equipment.
In addition to Verizon Wireless offering exclusive offers to Qwest Wireless customers who switch, Qwest will also waive any contract termination fees for those switching to Verizon Wireless. Residential Qwest customers who bundle their services will be able to be charged Verizon Wireless services on their Qwest bill beginning in the fall. Customers can also acquire Verizon Wireless equipment and services through the Qwest website.
Wow, Verizon Wireless is on a quest for world domination. Well, maybe that’s a little strong. They at least want to dominate the U.S. wireless market. Their definitive agreement to acquire Alltel and now this new agent agreement with Qwest puts them on track to do just that.
