I’m not certain if the ‘iMovie’ name is a trademarked term, because I have seen this label used on an Apple (of course, the “i” prefix was a dead giveaway). In that case, this was for a product that can edit home movies. However, there is another product that has been labeled iMovie, but it is not software. It’s the RAmos iMovie, which is a movie viewer that looks (dare I say it) rather sexy. It has a 4.3-inch WQVGA display, and it is very thin at just 10mm. by Darren Murph, posted Aug 8th 2008 at 7:20PM There’s no denying that HTC’s Advantage X7510 fills a narrowing niche — after all, how many of these things have you seen out and about in the subway / underground? Still, there’s just something very enticing about a 5-inch VGA display, built-in GPS, HSDPA, WiFi, Bluetooth and a full-blown QWERTY keyboard, is there not? For you folks who plunked down quite a few bills in order to bring this home, how has your experience been? For you folks in America who have just recently decided to bite the bullet and jump in, was it worth it? How would you tweak this do-it-all conglomerate (besides making it way more affordable)? PCMag reviews the Samsung T639 and writes, “The 1.3-megapixel camera takes photos that come out a little too dark and blue, with some blown-out bright areas in daylight shots. The video-recording mode shoots 176-by-144-pixel videos at 15 frames per second, with a strange and unpleasant wobble to them.” Read more about the Samsung T639. Did you know that salt has anti-aging properties and promotes relaxation? Me neither, but luxury Japanese spa, Saltasia, is based entirely on the idea that women (at least those for whom money is no object) would gladly pay a premium to spend time in rooms lined with hexagon-shaped salt tiles with fancy colored LED lights behind them. Joining fees are between $1,000 and $25,000, so this is no regular day spa; it’s a long-term investment in peace of mind. I would love to see a menu of treatments. Via Trends in Japan. Can a high-end headphone kit built by a company with notoriously overpriced HDMI cables and the same guy who wrote a song called ‘Bad Intentions’ really be any good?
In the fifth episode of the Gadget Lab Videoblog, Dylan Tweney and Daniel Dumas review the main features of the Monster Beats by Dr. Dre headphones, including its noise cancellation properties and its adaptability to weird blow drier testing.
In addition, they review the heavily hyped Samsung SGH-U900 Soul ‘Magical Touch’ phone, which includes a touch-sensitive OLED-display navigation control and a 5-megapixel camera.
Oh, and BTW and FYI, the Gadget Lab videoblog is now up to the #4 slot for all video podcasts in iTunes today.

Canon is adding three new camcorders into its VIXIA high-definition line-up, the VIXIA HF11 with dual flash memory, and the HG20 and HG21 with hard drive storage. All three camcorders brag of 24Mbps bit rate recording which is the highest possible bit rate that can be achieved in the AVCHD format. And since high-definition video recording would require lots of storage, Canon has put in 32GB of internal flash drive into the HF1 plus an SDHC card slot for even more, while the HG21 and HG20 got 120GB and 60GB hard disk drives respectively. Other features of these camcorders include an HD Video Lens, HD CMOS Image Sensor that allows full HD (1920 x 1080) image capture, DIGIC DV II Image Processor, Instant Auto Focus and SuperRange Optical Image Stabilization feature. Evernote is an amazing free note taking/keeping service that has both web-side and client-side parts. It gives Microsoft’s OneNote a run for the money (even though EverNote is free so far) in terms of features and has the advantage of being always accessible from the desktop or phone by accessing its web service. They’ve added a bunch of new features this summer.
So, what’s new? They released a new Mac client a few days ago that improves editing, clipping, and dragging. If you installed the Evernote Mac client previously, it will advise you of the update and perform the upgrade for you when you approve that action.

Nullriver’s short-lived iPhone application NetShare, which turns your iPhone into a wireless modem for your laptop, might not be returning to the App Store after all. Earlier in the week, Nullriver received a response from Apple saying the removal of NetShare was a mistake that required "technical review." It turns out that was a blanket term, because in a phone interview today Nullriver’s CEO Adam Dan said Apple was reviewing user contracts with providers, including AT&T. Though Apple is continuing to make Nullriver sit and wait, we’ve already received confirmation from AT&T spokesperson Brad Mays that tethering with iPhone is not allowed. Here’s a possible image of the Nikon D90 that has no shortage of rumors. Do you think this is a Photoshopped image, or is it the real deal? My instinct says that this is fake, since it does not come with the customary blur effect that most spyshots tend to have. If this is real, then I must say the penalties at Nikon for leaking images ought to be much less lenient compared to 40 lashes on the bottom.
