BlackBerry Javelin, more details confirmed
We first began to see details of the upcoming blackberry Javelin coming out about a month ago, but since then most of the BlackBerry related coverage has focused heavily on either the Bold or Kickstart. However, after seeing the latest information that has come available, it seems that the Javelin is going to be a welcomed edition to RIM’s current lineup. The new details are calling for the Javelin to feature a 480 x 360 high-res HVGA+ display, 512MHz processor, 256MB onboard flash memory, microSD card slot, 3.2-megapixel camera with auto-focus and a microUSB port for both charging and syncing. The one big drawback that we can see with the Javelin is the lack of 3G coverage, but it does have both Wi-Fi and GPS which should take some of the sting away. T-Mobile to take the Catalog model to all devices
When Apple released their App Store for the iphone most Sidekick users laughed and talked about how the Sidekick has had the Catalog (aka Download Fun) for years. We’ve been buying, downloading, and installing apps before the iPhone was even around. But as it stands now, there aren’t many phones out there that you can do this with. T-Mobile is looking to change that. They’re basically going to take the Catalog model and make it easy for developers to write applications and get them deployed to multiple devices. And when you buy an application, part of what you paid for it will go back to the developer with a revenue-sharing arrangement. NZXT’s Avatar gaming mouse gets previewed, likened to a Razer
by Darren Murph, posted Aug 9th 2008 at 4:26PM You don’t even need to dig into the machine translated read link to understand that the gaming mouse you see pictured above looks a lot like a Razer, but NZXT’s Avatar is a beast in its own right. Best known for lavish (and stylish) PC cases, the outfit has evidently seen fit to dip its toes into the wide, wide world of gamer-centric input peripherals. Boasting a 2,600DPI sensitivity rating and a rather unadventurous design, the Avatar should fare fine in heated deathmatches or WoW raids, though it’s probably overkill for the Excel maven. Asus embraces cloud computing, launches Eee Storage
Perhaps not quite content with just slaughtering the Eee name with endless netbook models with almost identical features, Asus has just announced the latest addition to the Eee lineup, the in-the-cloud storage service appropriately named Eee Storage. The newly launched service offers Eee users 20GB of online storage along with the Eee Download which currently features about 3,000 free software and game titles that users can download. Of course offering more items for download that need to be stored locally sounds a bit confusing for a cloud-based storage service, but I suppose now that all of your personal docs are in-the-cloud you may have a little room for more downloads. Everex updates the Cloudbook, now with Windows XP, more storage, RAM
The Cloudbook, or also known as one of the Eee PC competitors that did not get such a warm welcome into the market, has just received a nice little update. Everex has expanded on the Cloudbook line, and added the C1201V, which is essentially the same model as the original C1200V, except with a few key items improved. The C1201V will of course be priced a little higher, now coming in at $449, but for that extra money you get Windows XP pre-installed along with a 60GB hard drive and 1GB of RAM. While original Cloudbook owners could fairly easily install XP with an external CD drive or USB flash drive, the RAM was a pretty big upgrade, as it required taking most of the netbook apart. Quaduro Systems new Quadpad tablet worth more than just one try
Tablet PCs are quite something, and the market is steadily growing.  A company known as Quaduro Systems is taking it to the next level with the Quadpad E84.  This particular notebook has an operating system with Windows XP Embedded, but it is possible to run it on XP Home and Windows XP Professional.  The screen is an 8.4-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 800 x 600, and this is a sunlight readable display that can be read no matter how much glare you are receiving.  It also has 1GB of RAM, 8GB SSD, plus a 1GHz Celeron processor.  Other features include a PCMCIA II expansion slot, as well as a SD/CF memory card slot.  It also has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, of course.  Some of the other features can be seen in the attached photo, but if you’re squinting too hard to read the labels, I’ll list what I can see: a camera (megapixels unknown), hot keys, fingerprint sensor, speaker, and a scroll wheel.  It also looks like it has a VGA out, headphone/microphone jack, plus a stylus holder.  It appears to have just one USB port, though.  I’m afraid we have no word on pricing or availability at this point.  Via [ubergizmo] Keep up with the latest gadget goodness! SanDisk’s Sansa Fuze clearly rubbed off on Newsmy’s M521+
by Darren Murph, posted Aug 9th 2008 at 10:52AM We can’t (with a clean conscience) carelessly fling Newsmy’s M521+ into the KIRF pile — though we’d sure love to. It’s hard impossible to miss the design cues ripped directly from SanDisk’s Sansa Fuze, though the unit does have just enough uniqueness to keep it from being a bona fide clone. Reportedly, the device packs an FM tuner, FM transmitter, support for MP3 / WMA / APE / FLAC / AVI formats, a photo / text viewer and an interface that we wouldn’t let our worst enemies use. Oh wait, is that the iTunes logo? (Read the full post about ‘SanDisk’s Sansa Fuze clearly rubbed off on Newsmy’s M521+’…)

Nikon Coolpix S60 unveiled

Nikon Coolpix S60 unveiled
Nikon will be releasing the Coolpix S60 this September, making it one of the latest Coolpix digital cameras available that aims to being together both form and function without compromising on either. What makes the S60 stand out from many other generic digital cameras is the 3.5″ touch screen LCD display and a new graphical user interface that literally places shooting and playback controls at the user’s fingertips. My guess is you will be requiring plenty of tissues as your mates fiddle around with your latest toy. Alternatively, you can always keep a screen cleaner handy nearby so that those pesky fingerprints can be removed any time you like. (Read the full post about ‘Nikon Coolpix S60 unveiled’…)
