OpenFrame Platform By OpenPeak
OpenPeak has unveiled the OpenFrame platform that hopes to bring a semblance of the iphone OS to the home phone, an effort that is normally found on other cell phones without much success so far. The OpenFrame is a tiny tablet that resembles a digital picture frame, and will be accompanied by a traditional handset, where both are manufactured by OpenPeak and will be sold via telecommunications companies for $200 to $300. Developers are encouraged to come up with third-party programs including staples such as a calendar, local weather & news and Internet radio. Do you think the OpenFrame platform will catch on, considering similar online services are already available on the PC or laptop? (Read the full post about ‘OpenFrame Platform By OpenPeak’…)

Apple Sued Over iPhone 3G Woes
Don’t you just love America? You can virtually sue anyone, and the same has applied to Apple’s well documented problems concerning poor reception with their iPhone 3G. An Alabama woman has already filed a class-action lawsuit against the fruit-inspired company, where despite advertisements touting the new iPhone 3G being ‘twice as fast for half the price’, the Internet connection she was getting with her iphone 3G proved otherwise and worked “slower than expected and advertised,” according to the suit. The suit has 100 class members at the very least, and they are seeking damages of over $5 million, along with a replacement for the iPhone 3G if it cannot be repaired. Sony’s Bubble earbuds show off a softer side to gadgets
I have always had a preference for how the Skull Candy earbuds look, since they are one of the few that features a bit of color and are sold at a great deal of stores.  Well these new Sony earbuds seem to feature even more color and add a bit of sparkle to the mix as well.  Which means that these shiny little guys are likely going to be more fitting for the feminine type.  These colorful earbuds might actually be enough to get me to switch brands.  Well they would have been, if there was a US release date to speak of.  No, this pretty new product is headed straight for Japan and no word if it will venture elsewhere. In Search of Tiny, Affordable Houses
Who knew tiny houses could be so big? After I featured the portable, cheap Tumbleweed houses two weeks ago, many readers expressed their enthusiasm for the idea and pointed me towards several online forums of tiny house fanatics. They also requested that I look out for similar designs that could be realistically implemented. Here are some that I’ve found: The Voglreiter Auto Residence The Voglreiter Auto house in Germany (lead photo above) is a luxurious tiny house that is supposed to ride out as a car. But it has a problem: The whole internal combustion design is non-existent and its tires are just a design façade. Disappointing, but its two-story environmentally focused design is a result of a dome-like structure that circulates energy efficiently. Apple Could Offer eSATA Storage
There is a distinct possibility that Apple will be offering external Serial ATA (eSATA) storage to its entire Mac line up after details from a patent filing were revealed. This application also touches on an external computer accessing this storage via a switching mechanism, where holding a key on startup or toggling a hardware control on the host computer itself will result in a low-power mode where its internal storage is made available, being the same as if an external drive were hooked up to the system. This is very similar to Apple’s Firewire Target Disk Mode. (Read the full post about ‘Apple Could Offer eSATA Storage’…)

Logitech Spins Out First Steering Wheel for the Wii
My experience of driving games is limited: Super Mario Kart (the best version, on the SNES), Daytona Racing (the arcade version) and, erm, Chequered Flag on the Spectrum. The only one of these with a real steering wheel was Daytona, and it was awesome. Now, Logitech has released the first steering wheel for the Wii, and it could just make me buy a Wii to try it out on Mario Kart (I’ll also need to buy a TV). The Speed Force Wireless Racing Wheel is, as you might guess from the name, wireless and offers force feedback, so when you take Donkey Kong into a tight corner you should really feel the strain.
