I’m pretty amazed that the Tatung VoIP handset, winner of the 2008 IF, IDEA and Red Dot awards has not yet moved from the conceptual stage to production. With a handset as sexy as this, you are bound to see many more people jumping onto the VoIP bandwagon if only just to be seen chatting away on one. The casing of the Tatung VoIP can be customized, and the antenna is fake albeit included to add a touch of nostalgia. There is so far not a single VoIP phone as good looking as the Tatung VoIP, so will a hardware manufacturer do the right thing and adopt this design as soon as possible? It’s been at least an hour since Sony has released a new playstation 3 SKU, so our friends at Joystiq took the time to take a breath. In that moment, they came up with a handy — and somewhat startling — chart that explains which PS3 model has what, including Cell chip size (the more efficient and quieter 65nm vs the older 90nm), USB port count, pack-in freebies, and which ones have PS2 backwards compatibility. It’s charts like that that remind us that no currently-shipping PS3 comes with HD video cables or PS2 backward compatibility, for better or worse. During the past couple of weeks, China has made headlines for something as positive as hosting a truly epic Olympic opening ceremonies to something as pathetic as jailing pro-Tibet video bloggers. One of the big stories to emerge from the games in the tech world was the country’s decision to ban the use of iTunes due to one single album whose proceeds went directly to the Dalai Lama.
Now, the Chinese government has re-opened the iTunes store to their country, without the album in question for sale. This is (obviously) good news for Apple, as they continue to march into new markets.

The storage capacity of flash drives tend to get larger and it seems the Lexar JumpDrive is no exception. Lexar Media has announced the new 16GB JumpDrive Secure II Plus USB flash drive. The new drive will also include a pre-loaded 30-day trial of Dmailer V7 software which allows the backing up and synchronization of files including those used with Outlook and Outlook Express.
Another nice feature behind the new flash drive is the built-in capacity meter. This 10-bar meter gives users a quick visual indicator of the space still available on their flash drive without the need to plug it in first.

HTC has sent word that it’s now making a software ROM upgrade available on its website that will bring Windows Mobile 6.1 to the AT&T Tilt. Along with the upgrade Tilt users will now have access to the HTC Home Screen, Video Share Calling, Threaded SMS, MS Voice Command, OneNote Mobile, Remote Desktop Monitor, Enroll Domain, Managed Programs, and more.
It’s about time the update rolled out. One thing that has really become apparent is how long it takes to get upgrades out the door for phones nowadays.

Technically, I fall into the target audience for this keyboard, which is “recommended for Ages 3 and up”. Which is a good thing, as I want one. The diminutive USB keyboard, from Crayola, is cute, colorful and completely awesome. Look at those giant words on the keys. “Space” is my favorite, closely followed by that big ol’ Enter key. The EZ Type Keyboard works with both Macs and PCs, but would be useless for the former: where is the Command Key? We guess you could remap the useless vestigial flipper that is the Caps Lock key, but this keyboard isn’t about productivity. Not with the rigidly aligned QWERTY, or the strangely marked cursor keys (just what is printed on them? Eyes? (Read the full post about ‘Crayola Keyboard Teaches Kids to Comply’…)
